Ingredients

  • 2 liters Sprite soda chilled for best results
  • 2 cups crushed ice preferably finely crushed
  • 1 lemon lemon slices for flavor and garnish

Equipment

  • Freezer or freezer-safe container
  • Blender or large spoon

Method

  1. Pour the chilled Sprite into a large freezer-safe container, filling it about three-quarters full to allow space for expansion.
  2. Add the crushed ice evenly over the soda, ensuring the mixture starts to become icy and foggy around the edges.
  3. Place the container in the freezer and let it chill for about 4 hours, stirring every hour with a spoon to break up ice chunks and encourage even freezing.
  4. Once frozen but still slightly scoopable, remove the container from the freezer and stir vigorously to loosen the icy mixture, creating a semi-slushy consistency.
  5. Scoop the icy Sprite mixture into glasses, allowing the irregular, chunky appearance to shine through.
  6. Garnish each serving with a lemon slice for added citrus flavor and a pretty presentation.
  7. Enjoy immediately with a straw or spoon for a refreshing, fizzy crunch.

Notes

For best texture, do not let the mixture freeze completely solid. Stirring during freezing creates the ideal semi-slushy consistency. Adjust freezing time depending on your freezer's temperature and the desired ice level.
